In an interesting development, Michael Saylor’s leading Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy paused its Bitcoin purchase and chose to pour money into repurchasing its own preferred stock last week. The company spent $204.9 million buying back STRC shares while making zero Bitcoin trades, snapping a five-week run of acquisitions, as per reports.A Monday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) confirmed the details. Between October 19 and October 25, Strategy reported no Bitcoin purchases, no Bitcoin sales, and no stock sales through its at-the-market offering program. What the company did do was repurchase 2.07 million shares of STRC preferred stock, drawing on its USD Cash reserve to cover the roughly $205 million cost.Strategy’s crypto stash remains unchanged as a result, sitting at 848,517 BTC. That holding carries a value close to $67.9 billion and accounts for more than 4% of Bitcoin’s total supply. The position was accumulated at an average price of $75,446 per coin, bringing total acquisition costs to approximately $64 billion once fees and expenses are included. Cash figures disclosed in the filing show Strategy held $4.83 billion in its USD Reserve and $242.4 million in USD Cash as of October 25.Bitcoin buying had already been losing momentum before last week’s complete halt. Strategy restarted its purchases in mid-September after a pause, spending more than $140 million on Bitcoin in the week ending September 27. From there, weekly spending steadily declined, falling below $30 million in each of the following three weeks before dropping to nothing entirely last week. Competitor Strive, spent over $510 million during the same period on its largest single-week Bitcoin purchase to date.Meanwhile, October has seen the company commit about $664 million to STRC share buybacks, dwarfing the $72.3 million it spent acquiring 851 BTC over the same stretch.OKX (Previously OKEx) Futures Trading: Is Trading on Leverage Safe?Best Crypto Mining Apps for Android – must try importantTop 10 bridges on Ethereum to transfer ASSETS! | EASY and FRIENDLY!XRP Lawsuit Reveals Vitalik’s Involvement in the Controversial ETH Speech
