Two seasons on, the Spanish giants are back in for the 20-year-old, who impressed in his debut campaign at Tottenham.Napoli could also pose a threat, though reports suggest the Italian side are hesitant, believing a move for Bergvall would be difficult given he only recently signed a new deal with Spurs.Bergvall’s future and release clause rumoursThe Swede would certainly not come cheap if he were to depart N17, with his contract running until the summer of 2032.But there have been rumours of a release clause being included in his latest extension, with reports suggesting it will become active in 2027 – which is now only a few months away. This means any club willing to trigger the clause once it takes effect could enter contract talks with Bergvall, leaving Tottenham with little power to intervene. When asked earlier in the season about the possibility of a release clause, Bergvall refused to confirm or deny it. He said: “Is that what you want to hear? That’s not something I’m going to say.”Pressed further on whether Tottenham had made him any promises in the deal – such as playing time or a future exit – Bergvall added: “I don’t know if I should go into exactly what’s in the contract, as it’s quite personal, but I’m incredibly happy to have signed a new deal and feel positive about the process.”It is certainly one to keep an eye on especially with Barcelona lurking given their standing in the game, the Swede’s head could well be turned.READ MORE: ‘We are here to change Tottenham’s mentality and beat the top teams’ – Mateus FernandesThe post Barcelona and Napoli target Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall amid release clause rumours appeared first on Spurs Web.
