NEW DELHI: Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, whose memoir will be released in November, said on Tuesday that there would be “tamasha” after the book’s release.According to the former Congress president, the book gave her an opportunity to tell her story because many things written about her are either “exaggerated” or completely “invented.”Also Read | ‘Finding a place to belong’: Sonia Gandhi makes Instagram debut, shares first look of memoir“I felt that since a lot had been written about me, and a lot of it was not quite correct, or you know, it was either invented or exaggerated, so it gave me a feel of being able to now put down my story and describe facts and things as they were, as they really were,” Sonia Gandhi said in a video on X, which she joined recently. The Congress parliamentary party chief further stated that reading her memoir may change some people’s views about her, while others may develop a more negative opinion.“People have different views. Some people may change their view about me. Some people’s view may become worse, but that’s what it is. That’s what happens when you write a book or when you are in public life. There’s bound to be tamasha, as you would say it here,” she added.Join conversationShare your thoughts in the commentsBe respectful · TOI community guidelinesThe memoir, titled "Belonging: A Journey of Love," traces Sonia Gandhi's journey from her childhood in post-war Italy to her relationship with former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the personal losses that shaped her life and relationship with India. Also Read | When Sonia met Rajiv: Congress leader narrates her 1st meeting with husband in X debutThe memoir will be published internationally by Alfred A Knopf, an imprint of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group, on November 10.
