KTR flays govt. for holding public hearing on Musi river project - The HinduPublished - October 29, 2026 09:38 pm ISTBRS working president K.T. Rama RaohyderabadWorking president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao has criticised the State Government for stifling the voice of people even in the public hearing being held for taking their views on the Musi Riverfront Development project.Speaking to the media here on Thursday, he said the government was enacting dramas in the name of Musi beautification when people were suffering badly with the drought conditions. By holding public hearings on the Musi project, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had unveiled ₹1 lakh crore scam during the distress conditions being faced by different sections.KTR recalled Mr. Revanth Reddy’s claims about real estate and asked if, with that experience, he was planning to ‘loot’ land in the city in the name of the Musi project. That was the reason why the government was just pushing the public hearing as a procedural matter by preventing people from attending it.Stating that the BRS would not be a mute spectator to the Congress party’s ‘loot’ plans, he sought to know the rationale behind the Chief Minister’s plan to get 10 tmc ft water from Mallannasagar to Musi when people in villages and urban areas were thirsty.He questioned why there was a crop holiday in Telangana when the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka with similar conditions, did not declare any crop holiday. The government instructed district-level administrations to divert people’s attention from the drought conditions by holding street plays and other folk art programmes, he alleged.Published - October 29, 2026 09:38 pm ISTSign in to unlock member-only benefits!Access 10 free stories every monthSave stories to read laterAccess to comment on every storySign-up/manage your newsletter subscriptions with a single clickGet notified by email for early access to discounts & offers on our products${ ind + 1 } ${ device }Last active - ${ la }
