A creator called my affiliate offer a pyramid scheme. Was my email the problem?

Wait 5 sec.

I run a small software product and sent a creator a cold email offering a share of subscription revenue from customers they refer. They wouldn't have to pay to join, and there's no commission for recruiting other affiliates. They sent an angry reply saying it was a pyramid scheme and that they'd report me to law enforcement. I haven't replied, and I won't contact them again. My email was long and included examples of how much they could earn. Reading it back, I can see how that might sound like a get-rich-quick pitch to someone who doesn't know me. I'm leaving out their identity because I want feedback on my email. If you've done creator outreach, how do you explain an affiliate offer without making it sound suspicious? Do you mention the commission in the first email or wait until they show interest? submitted by /u/remoteDev1 [link] [comments]
