Disneyland Resort cast members are finally removing the scrim and scaffolding from The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure Park, revealing the refurbished ride facade after two months of construction. Let’s take a look.‘The Little Mermaid’ Ride Refurbishment at Disneyland ResortCredit: DisneyConstruction walls first appeared around The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Dinsey California Adventure Park in August. Slowly, scrim and scaffolding crawled around the entire facade, blocking almost the entire building besides the entrance to The Little Mermaid (1989) ride.In mid-October, Disney cast members rolled up the scrim covering the building and tied it to the scaffolding, giving Southern California theme park guests their first look at the refurbished structure. Now, the scrim and scaffolding have disappeared. The Latest Picture From Disney California Adventure ParkCredit: Ed Aguila, Inside the MagicOn October 28, WDWNT shared the first look at The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure without scaffolding or scrim since construction on the ride facade began two months ago. Plywood barriers still surround portions of the attraction building and its outdoor queue.Disney cast members do not appear to have made any significant design changes to the building. They appear to have repainted the cream walls, bronze trim, blue columns, and other detailing, which appear refreshed after years of weather damage and wear.Credit: DisneyThe only remaining scaffolding is on the side of the building, near the covered outdoor queue. All of the scrim fabric appears to have been removed, though, so the remaining scaffolding and plywood walls are likely to disappear soon.Disneyland Resort never commented publicly on this refurbishment at Disney California Adventure Park. Despite extensive exterior construction, The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure remained open and operational throughout the project.Did the recent refurbishment of The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure impact your visit to Disney California Adventure Park?
