SPX Tests Major Support While $VIX Gears Up for Potential RunVOLATILITY S&P 500TVC:VIXROW_PartnersOn the daily chart, the ascending white trendline that guided the index higher through summer and early autumn has officially broken down. During the previous consolidation phase, that trendline intersected with the upper green support band near 7575 to cushion the drop. With that diagonal support gone, price action is leaning directly on horizontal levels without that dynamic floor beneath it. Before looking at the deeper SPX 7300 zone, there is minor support around 7400. However, if sellers remain in control, the primary landing shelf sits lower near 7300, marked by prior swing structure and the lower green band. Momentum is already tilting defensive, with daily RSI confirming lower highs across the yellow resistance line and TTM showing histogram exhaustion. The volatility panel tells the bigger story. VIX broke cleanly out of its multi-month descending wedge and is now pressing directly into the red horizontal resistance band near 22. This red line has acted as a hard ceiling since the spring sell off. Repeated retests under overhead resistance often wear it down rather than strengthen it. A clean push through 22 opens the path toward the purple line and the unfilled gap sitting above 24. If VIX fills that 24 gap, systematic funds and volatility sensitive accounts will likely be forced to trim further, accelerating pressure on SPX into the lower green support shelf. Watch the daily close around the 22 mark on VIX to see if the ceiling finally gives way. OPINION: it feels like it will. We have been sitting in heavy cash for a few days now, well above normal levels. TGtg!
