From my personal experience, mastering price action and market structure through candlestick patterns/movement has been the greatest tool for self awareness, self discipline and consistency. For me trading exposed my greed, my fear, my self sabotaging habits, my lack of respect for authority, my carelessness for risk, etc. It’s easy to say “I’m patient” but difficult to sit in a trade that took me out, blew my account and then goes in my direction. Personally, I feel like that same cycle will continue for an individual who isn’t in love with the game of trading and the art of Japanese Candlestick reading.
