The BJP-JD(S) alliance defeated the Congress in all four Karnataka Legislative Council seats that went to polls on October 23, strengthening the NDA's position ahead of the state Assembly elections due in less than two years. The results covered two graduates' and two teachers' constituencies, with BJP leaders describing the outcome as a sign of voter dissatisfaction with the Congress government.
