I’m building a tool for the part after research notes exist: turning them into sourced answers and drafts

Wait 5 sec.

I’ve been looking at how researchers, students, and knowledge workers handle the messy middle of research work. A lot of tools already help with one part of the process: - Zotero manages references and PDFs - Elicit / Research Rabbit help discover papers - NotebookLM can answer questions from uploaded sources - Obsidian / Notion help store notes The part that still feels awkward is what happens after the notes already exist. You have highlights, meeting notes, article drafts, saved links, maybe some PDF summaries. Then a few weeks later you’re trying to write something and you have to reconstruct: - which note supported which claim - where a specific argument came from - whether two sources disagree or just use different wording - what can actually be reused in a draft That’s the gap we’re working on with Buildin. The idea is not to replace citation managers or paper discovery tools. It’s more focused on the “selected context” stage: choose the notes or pages AI is allowed to use ask questions across that selected material keep sources visible next to the answer save the useful result back into the workspace as a page or mind map I’m affiliated with Buildin, so this is obviously biased, but I’d love feedback from people who do research-heavy work. Does this “notes → sourced answer → reusable draft” step feel like a real problem, or is it something your current setup already handles well?
