Is it normal to shave a patients head over treating for lice?

Wait 5 sec.

Hi so my sisters been in and out of the ICU for a month, but had life saving surgery twice last week. They a few times have said they were nearing all they could do for her. She's slowly getting better day by day and is even becoming more aware and breathing on her own. A few days ago they mentioned to my mom she had lice, no clue where she got it, but they wanted to shave her head. I persuaded my mom to seek treatment first. Today they pressured my mom again to shave her head, that it could lead to infection. My sister this time was aware enough and started crying. I hope I didn't dive to deep into her condition to break the rules. Generally I'm just wondering if this is normal? It's going to crush her already frail mental health, but I know her frail physical matters a lot rn. submitted by /u/Bloodthirsty_Kirby [link] [comments]
