I work on a cardio PCU and i noticed that putting in orders for MDs is the normal for our unit. But im just wondering if this is the normal everywhere? In nursing program they tell u that you shouldnt be doing this and its kinda surprising how much we actually do this. My hospitalist is amazing and puts orders right away but if i contact the cardiologist they expect us to do it unless its like a drip or its something they initiate. Idk is this the normal?
