Can I go tax exempt for a single pay period of OT shifts?

Wait 5 sec.

Wondering if I can go tax exempt on a single pay period of bonus/OT shifts. I would be working 14 days in a row. The job I have right now is chill and I don’t have a problem working that many in a row. My family is having a hard time financially right now and is no longer able to pay their mortgage so I am sending money back to them while they get on their feet. I would be switching it back to regular withholding after the pay period, and only doing this once during the year. I’ve heard of people doing this before, but are there any repercussions to this aside from maybe owing taxes when it’s time to file? I work a lot of overtime in general. Single filer, no dependents if that helps. submitted by /u/Golden-Guns [link] [comments]
