Hi, I'm ArtsyGirl. I make grayscale coloring books for adults and sell them as printable PDF downloads in my Etsy shop, GrayscaleHaven. This post is my whole world in one place: what grayscale coloring is, how I color a page, every book I have made so far, and where to find me. If you landed here from one of my comments, welcome in. TL;DR: Grayscale coloring pages come with the shading already printed in soft grays, so your colors gain depth without any drawing skill. You print the PDF at home, color over the gray with pencils, markers, or gel pens, and the shadows are already there. https://preview.redd.it/k6d4zw2rnhyh1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8189e29c815aa983a1e67465b2f7ef7fe5d8bbbc **What grayscale coloring is** A normal coloring page gives you outlines and leaves every bit of shading to you. A grayscale coloring page prints the light and shadow into the picture itself, in layers of gray. Light gray means light color, dark gray means deep color. You lay your color over the top and the page does the hard part, so a winter cabin or a cat's fur comes out looking shaded and real instead of flat. It is the most forgiving way I know to get a page you are proud of, and it works with cheap supplies. **How I color a page** Print on the thickest paper your printer takes. Cardstock stops markers bleeding through. Start with your lightest color and work toward the dark areas. The printed gray deepens everything on its own. Go slow over the darkest gray. One light layer there looks richer than three heavy ones. White gel pen at the end, on eyes, snow, and window light. That one trick makes the whole page pop. https://preview.redd.it/yl33o6ewnhyh1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1aba874be393b66affec880fb83d0cbc8bb7d22c **The books so far** Every book is a printable PDF, instant download, drawn around one cozy theme: - Cozy Winter: cabins, cocoa, snow days, and quiet firesides. - Halloween: friendly spooky, pumpkins and ghosts with soft shading. - Fall Cozy: harvest scenes, sweaters, and falling leaves. - Thanksgiving: the full feast, family tables, and grateful hearts. - Creepy Cuties, in a DENSE grayscale edition and a LIGHT near-line-art edition. - Brick-Built Thanksgiving Gnomes, also in DENSE and LIGHT editions. - Stained Glass Christmas Advent: 25 days of stained glass pages to count down December. - Anime Advent Cozy Christmas: 25 days of cozy anime scenes. - Cute Dragon Mandala Advent: friendly dragons wrapped in mandalas, 25 days. - Cute Cats and Flowers by the Ocean: cats, blooms, and sea air. - Friendsgiving in New York, Pasadena, and Scranton: three city tables, three casts of friends. - Printable bookmarks to color, in matching sets for the cat, dragon, brick gnome, and Friendsgiving books. The whole shelf lives in my Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GrayscaleHaven The full catalog with a picture of every book is on my site: https://grayscalehaven.wordpress.com/catalog/ https://preview.redd.it/xt10nau0ohyh1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc971ce197131898501b3324d85d8a9cad5e81dd **How the books are made** I design each book digitally, then I finish, fix, and test-print pages myself before anything goes in the shop. If a page does not print clean and color well with ordinary pencils, it does not ship. New books come out most weeks, and the backlist keeps growing toward a full shelf of grayscale themes. https://preview.redd.it/akrl8u53ohyh1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=03a02d8a2863c37afdd5c8b787d522f070fce7e7 **Find GrayscaleHaven everywhere** - Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GrayscaleHaven - Website and catalog: https://grayscalehaven.wordpress.com - Blog with a post per book: https://grayscalehaven.blogspot.com - Pinterest boards full of pages: https://www.pinterest.com/grayscalehaven/ - YouTube Shorts of every book: https://www.youtube.com/@GrayscaleHaven - Every link in one place: https://linktr.ee/grayscalehaven **What I post here** Colored pages as I finish them, new book announcements, and the occasional question about what theme to draw next.
