I keep seeing the same pattern with my own projects. You launch, a few friends sign up, and then it goes quiet. The product might be fine, but nobody is really using it yet, so there is not much feedback to improve it with. I built FirstUsers.club around that problem. Builders join a cohort and sign up for each other's products, and each signup comes with an answer to one feedback question the builder picks. Everyone gets a launch week with 25 real signups and honest feedback. I am still not sure I have the model right, which is partly why I am posting. To test it I set aside 5 free Basic spots for people from this sub: https://firstusers.club/free?code=REDDIT-SIDEPROJECT The link asks for your product's signup page and your Reddit username, and a spot only counts once you confirm by email. Your product does need a free signup with no card required, since that is how members try each other's products. If the spots are gone, the link just starts a free account instead. What I would genuinely like feedback on is the reciprocity part. Does signing up for a few other products each week feel like a fair trade for getting real users on your own launch week, or does it sound like too much to ask? And if you have tried anything like this before, what made it fall apart? submitted by /u/cargocultceo [link] [comments]
