Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears are trying to reach the Super Bowl.A four-time Pro Bowler could become a significant addition to the Bears’ revamped defense in a final push for the big game in Los Angeles.Caleb Williams and the Bears have big plans this seasonGettyThe Bears have been linked to eight-year veteran Jeffrey Simmons, who has 38 combined tackles and four sacks this season for the Tennessee Titans. With the Titans struggling at 1-6 and at the bottom of the AFC South, Tennessee could be one of the NFL’s most active teams heading into the November 10 trade deadline. That’s placed Simmons’ name increasingly in the news, and the Tennessee defensive lineman addressed the rumors on Wednesday.“I don’t worry about the things that I can’t control,” Simmons said.“And those type of things is also a distraction. I mean, that’s a lot of fans and outside media. I haven’t heard anything from my agent. I haven’t heard anything from this organization. As far as I know, I’m gonna be here.”Simmons, 29, has 46.5 career sacks and has been named first-team All-Pro.The No. 19 overall pick of the NFL Draft out of Mississippi State has earned $107 million during his pro career and is currently playing on a three-year, $105m deal that runs through 2030.It would be a large investment for the Bears to make via trade. But with Chicago 5-2 in a loaded NFC North — all four teams are above .500 and the Minnesota Vikings (6-0) are the NFL’s only remaining undefeated team — Simmons could become a midseason boost for a defense that ranks third in the NFL in average rushing yards allowed (87.6) and ninth in points allowed (20.4).Second-year Chicago head coach Ben Johnson acknowledged that the team could be active as it shifts its attention toward the second half of the 2026 season. Feel really good about our process, and we’ll see what happens. You never know.”Simmons sounds like he’s committed to Tennessee. But if the Bears want to add a four-time Pro Bowler, it’ll be hard to say no to backing the highly talented Williams on the other side of the ball. “I can be that type of guy and say, ‘I want out,’ or I can be that type of guy that could stay here in my leadership and everything to help turn things back around where I know it could get back to,” Simmons said. “So I think that’s kind of been my mindset is, ‘What can I do to help influence this team and get things back on track?’ And that’s all I’ve been focused on.”Sign up for talkSPORT Stateside, the YouTube channel dedicated to passionate US Sports fans. Will Gavin, Brian T.
