I built a free, open-source Mac assistant in the notch. Would you use it for learning apps?

Wait 5 sec.

I’m building HeyMate, a native macOS app that puts an AI assistant in the notch (or a small pill on Macs without one). The problem I wanted to tackle: asking about something on screen usually means taking a screenshot, switching to a chatbot, and explaining where you are. With HeyMate you hold Control + Option and ask. It can answer out loud, point at things, and guide you through software one step at a time. It is free and MIT licensed. Bring your existing Claude or ChatGPT plan, or a compatible API; provider costs and limits still apply. macOS 14.2+. The 60-second film below combines edited product recordings and labeled illustrative scenes. It is a product overview, not proof of an uninterrupted successful task.
