paste your app's address and it checks from the outside, using only what any visitor can download, whether the app is up and whether the Supabase backend behind it still answers. Free, no sign-up, about 20 seconds. What it checks: - whether the page loads, and whether the host is showing its own page instead of your app: "not found" pages on Vercel, Netlify, Lovable, Bolt, Base44 and Firebase, "paused" pages on Vercel and Netlify, and takedown or suspension pages on Vercel, Netlify and Lovable; - whether the Supabase project behind the page still answers; - whether a secret key (a Stripe secret key, an OpenAI- or Anthropic-style key, a Supabase service_role key) is sitting in the public code; it reports the kind, never the key; - whether a Stripe test key or test payment link is live on a real domain; - for apps on Supabase: which sign-in methods are switched on, and whether anyone can sign up without confirming an email (read with the public key your app already ships); - on your own domain: whether the HTTPS certificate is invalid or expires within 14 days, and whether the domain registration expires within 30 days (where the registry publishes an expiry date). Why I built it: I ran it, in a key-less mode, over 649 public apps from Show HN and two maker directories. Of the 303 with signs of being AI-built, 2 of 52 (4%) posted in the last 2 months are down, against 70 of 211 (33%) posted more than 6 months ago. The plain Vercel/Netlify apps rise too (4% to 21%), so it's about apps nobody watches. Many of the down ones are old demos, and most show an error page. The ones that worry me are the 31 of 86 Supabase-backed apps that load a normal page while their Supabase project is paused or deleted. Try it: https://www.originpilot.site/check The study, with its method and caveats, is linked from the page. The checker never logs in and never reads a table or a user account. It doesn't run your page's JavaScript, so "looks OK" isn't a guarantee. I'd love to hear where it gets things wrong. submitted by /u/Individual-Plate-766 [link] [comments]
