A consumer commission in Shivamogga has directed South Western Railway to refund Rs 1,000 with 6% annual interest and pay Rs 15,000 in compensation and litigation expenses to a passenger travelling with 23 relatives. The family reportedly got off a train at Tumakuru after finding no water in the toilets and receiving no response from the station master, forcing them to spend an additional Rs 1,760 on tickets for another train.
