Three months ago we put TESORIN on the App Store: a money app that has never asked anyone for a bank login. You log money yourself, or your Apple Pay taps, bank texts and receipt photos land as drafts you check before they count. It's been out since August. Some of what the three months taught us: 1. Free lifetime fills the room for a week. About 1,500 people claimed lifetime Premium in launch week. The bug reports from that week shaped most of what we fixed next. About 80 of those people still open the app every week. 2. Our worst bug only happened on locked phones. iOS can wake an app before you unlock it. TESORIN couldn't read its own encrypted data yet, decided it was a fresh install, and saved an empty copy over people's budgets and categories. We couldn't reproduce it because our test phones were always unlocked. Now the app waits for the unlock, and a test fails the build if anyone removes that check. 3. The paywall was in the wrong place. We launched with almost everything behind Premium. A month in, the everyday part went free for good: two accounts, unlimited entries, a monthly budget, five recurring bills, backup and export. 4. Nine subreddits in one afternoon gets you filtered, not seen. One community at a time, rules first. Which is why this is only here today. What it does now: budgets that forecast the month, investments and net worth across 20+ markets, a retirement planner tested against 55 years of real markets, family sharing, and a web app that got a new glass design this week (it's in the video).
