Lucas Bergvall is a wanted man across Europe even though the midfielder only signed a new Tottenham Hotspur contract in the summer. The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham in the summer, but he not only ended up staying but also extended his deal. However, his new contract may not guarantee that he is staying in North London, with some sources indicating that Bergvall’s deal at Tottenham contains a release clause. The midfielder refused to confirm or deny whether his Spurs contract contains a release clause when he was asked about it by the Swedish media last month. He said: “Is that what you want to hear? That’s not something I’m going to say.”Pressed further, Bergvall added: “I don’t know if I should go into exactly what’s in the contract, as it’s quite personal, but I’m incredibly happy to have signed a new deal and feel positive about the process.”L.
