Got tired of missing twitch drops and forgetting when battle passes ended

Wait 5 sec.

I play a handful of live service games and I was always finding out about stuff too late. A season would end or a game I play had twitch drops and I'd only hear about it after they were over. Same with free games on Epic, I'd forget when there were free games and miss them. The annoying part is bits of this already exist, they're just scattered everywhere. There are apps that notify you about drops but none of them cover discord quests. There are sites that give free game alerts but they don't do drops. Fan sites and wikis cover game events for their own game, and Steam has a news page that's technically supposed to list events but developers barely use it. I couldn't find anything that puts it all in one place. So for the last few months I've been working on stimpak. You follow the games you want and it tells you when something starts and again before it ends. You can get notifications via web push, email, or a Discord DM. Right now there's 150+ live events between Twitch and Kick drops, Discord Quests, in-game events and the Epic/Steam/Ubisoft/Luna giveaways. At first I added everything by hand (it became impossible to keep up and scale). Now most of the events comes from a pipeline that pulls from the sources directly, and the manual part is mostly reviewing any games/events added have low confidence or are super niche with only a handful of players. The trickiest part was actually handling results from Steam, lots of patch notes ended up as events at first. There's a public stats page if you're curious (see the link in the footer on the site) It's free to use and you can browse without an account. Appreciate any and all feedback. submitted by /u/zektekdev [link] [comments]
