I built a free open source video editor for Mac and Windows. First alpha is out, need testers

Wait 5 sec.

Hey, I'm Paul. I make videos and used Premiere for years. Over the last months I built my own video editor for Mac and Windows. It's called Sequence Studio and it's free and open source. Why?: Adobes prices keep going up and I just don't think a video editor should sit behind a subscription. Now Apple started with that for Final Cut too. The layout: Its inspired by Premiere with a touch of Final Cut. Color grading with the Pro Mode will be pushed further later, more in the direction of DaVinci Resolve (there's still simple color grading as an option), for everyone who needs that. It's an alpha: A lot doesn't fit together yet, but with every feedback it gets better, every day. Would be happy about anyone who wants to join in and helps us create THE video editing software by editors for editor. So here is what to do: If you want to, download it and test it with your own footage. Keep in mind its not a finished program. If something doesnt run or cutting isn't fast yet, that's ok and expected. Just report what you find. The biggest help: cut a short video with it and tell me where it annoyed you. Mac needs Apple Silicon and macOS 26, the DMG is signed and notarized. Windows 10/11 works but is rougher, and the installer isn't signed yet so SmartScreen will warn you (More info > Run anyway).
