I built an Android launcher that lets you travel through apps with a circular thumb gesture

I'm the developer of Nirea. The idea is to give an Android home screen depth: apps live in themed worlds, and a circular thumb gesture moves forward through their layers. Reverse the gesture to come back. You can organize apps into worlds and folders and adjust their placement. For 3.0 I've been working on animated themes. This short Galaxy demo shows Black Widow, where navigation takes you through a spider web containing the app icons: https://www.reddit.com/r/HowToMen/comments/1xjtf1g/app_promotion_nirea_30_navigate_through_your_apps/ The design challenge is making the movement interesting while keeping it clear where your apps are. I'd appreciate feedback on whether the gesture makes sense from the demo and what would make it easier to learn. Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.planestosoftware.depth It has a 7-day trial followed by a one-time lifetime purchase. No subscription or ads. submitted by /u/Nirea_1979 [link] [comments]
