Latest Gold Analysis and Trading PlanGoldTVC:GOLDGold_Navigator Gold had another difficult trading session yesterday. Both buyers attempting to enter near the lows and sellers looking to trade from resistance faced considerable pressure, as price action remained volatile and directionless. Gold repeatedly tested the 4035–4040 resistance zone but failed to establish a firm foothold above it. Selling pressure subsequently increased, pushing prices lower and eventually breaking below the 4015–4010 short-term consolidation support. In my view, the weakness in gold is closely related to yesterday's stronger-than-expected US economic data. Inflation remains elevated, while economic growth has exceeded expectations, reinforcing the market's hawkish expectations for the Federal Reserve and increasing the possibility of another rate hike in December. Meanwhile, renewed geopolitical tensions have pushed oil prices higher, adding to inflation concerns. Expectations of higher interest rates and elevated Treasury yields continue to weigh on gold, making a meaningful recovery increasingly difficult. During today's Asian session, gold extended its decline, breaking below the 4000–3990 area and remaining under pressure below the psychological 4000 level. Key Technical Levels The most important area to watch today is 3985–3975. I consider this zone the key short-term defensive area for gold. If buyers successfully defend this support, gold could stabilize and initiate another technical rebound. However, a decisive break below 3975 would weaken the current structure and potentially trigger another downward move toward 3955, followed by the previous low area around 3945. Key Support Levels 3985–3975: Major short-term support 3955: Next downside target 3945: Previous low and deeper support Key Resistance Levels 3990–4000: Initial recovery resistance 4015–4025: Intermediate resistance 4030–4035: Major short-term selling pressure My Trading Strategy For today's session, I believe the 3975–3985 support zone should determine the next short-term direction. If gold continues declining during the European session, I would avoid chasing the downside or blindly buying into weakness. Instead, I prefer waiting for price action to stabilize near the lower support zone before considering a long position. If buyers manage to establish support around 3985–3990, an early recovery trade may become attractive. On the upside, 4030–4035 remains the primary resistance zone. If gold rebounds toward this area and shows clear rejection signals, I would consider a short position. If gold first drops toward 3975–3980 before recovering, the next selling opportunity may shift lower to the 4015–4025 region. Today's Trading Setups 1. BUY XAU/USD — 3980–3990 Entry: 3980–3990 Stop Loss: Below 3970 Targets: 4020 / 4030 Condition: Consider this setup only if gold holds above 3985 after the European session begins and shows signs of stabilization. 2. BUY XAU/USD — Around 3975 Entry: Around 3975 Stop Loss: Below 3960 Targets: 4000 / 4010 Condition: If selling pressure continues and gold tests the lower support area, wait for a clear stabilization signal before entering. 3. SELL XAU/USD — 4030–4035 Entry: 4030–4035 Stop Loss: Above 4050 Targets: 4005 / 3995 Condition: Look for bearish rejection or confirmation of selling pressure near resistance. 4. SELL XAU/USD — 4015–4025 Entry: 4015–4025 Stop Loss: Above 4040 Targets: 3995 / 3990 Condition: This setup becomes relevant if gold first declines toward 3975–3980 and subsequently rebounds into the lower resistance zone. My overall view remains cautious and bearish in the short term. The stronger US data, renewed inflation concerns, and hawkish Fed expectations are continuing to limit gold's recovery potential. However, I do not believe chasing the downside at current levels is a sensible approach. The 3975–3985 zone remains the key area to monitor. As long as this support holds, a technical rebound remains possible. If it breaks decisively, I will shift my focus toward 3955 and 3945. My strategy is to remain flexible, trade confirmed price action, and avoid entering positions simply because gold has moved sharply in one direction. What is your view on gold today? Do you expect buyers to defend 3975–3985, or will sellers push the market toward 3955?
