Home alone toddler strays out of home and drowns in a pond - The HinduPublished - October 27, 2026 09:12 pm IST - RAMANATHAPURAMA-one-and-a-half-year-old girl died after falling into a temple pond in Uchipuli on Monday night.According to the police, the victim, Bhargavi, was the daughter of Rajasekar, 35, and Indhuja, 23, who got married two years ago and also have an 18-day-old infant.An argument broke out between Rajasekar and Indhuja. Angered by the altercation, Rajasekar left for his native village of Akkida Valasai. Indhuja, accompanied by her mother Radha, followed him in an effort to pacify him.Upon returning home, Indhuja discovered that Bhargavi, who was sleeping when they left home, was missing. An overnight search by the family proved in vain. The child’s body was later found in the village pond near a temple, Police noticed a minor abrasion on the child’s lip.Police secured CCTV footage showing the toddler walking alone towards the pond in search of her parents.
