Roberto De Zerbi has explained Pedro Porro’s post-match kiss after Tottenham’s win at Chelsea, explaining that Spurs are lucky to have him at the club amid interest from elsewhere.Tottenham Hotspur’s victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend could well prove to be a significant moment for the Lilywhites this campaign. While the 2-0 scoreline is certainly impressive, it was far from the only thing to stand out from Tottenham’s display.Spurs finally looked like a side playing with confidence, one that understood exactly what their manager demanded tactically. The result was a convincing win, with Tottenham bossing many of the key match stats, enjoying more possession and having more attempts at goal than their London rivals.Roberto De Zerbi has revealed that the recent upturn in results, which includes a 3-1 victory over Coventry, came from a big team meeting after the 1-1 draw against Manchester United. With back-to-back wins in the bag for the first time this campaign, the feel-good factor that eluded Spurs in the opening weeks of the season looks to have been restored, not just among the fans but within the Tottenham squad.Credit: @thefrederikkejensen / InstagramRoberto De Zerbi explains Pedro Porro kiss after Tottenham win at ChelseaA perfect illustration of the strong bonds growing in the Tottenham camp came right after the Chelsea victory, when Pedro Porro gave De Zerbi a sloppy kiss during the manager’s post-match interview.Porro had only just returned from a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury in the clash against Aston Villa before the September international break. The full-back made his return against Chelsea, coming off the bench and helping Spurs see out a first victory at Stamford Bridge since 2018.De Zerbi has now opened up on whether he spoke to Porro about the kiss on his neck. The Tottenham boss revealed that no such conversation took place, but instead explained why the full-back may have been moved to make such a gesture. He told the Spurs media team: “No, because Pedro is one of the biggest players. He’s a great guy, a sensitive guy, a passionate guy. We are very lucky to have Pedro with us.”Spurs keen to keep Porro amid Real Madrid and Barcelona interestTottenham will certainly be hoping to keep Porro at the club for much longer, especially with interest in the full-back heating up.Real Madrid and Barcelona are among the sides keen on Porro’s services, despite Spurs handing him a new contract in the summer.Given his passion and experience, Tottenham will not want to lose the Spaniard, and that is evident from the hefty price tag they have put on him.Porro himself has opened up on his future, revealing that while he is open to a move to Spain one day, he is happy to have extended his stay at Tottenham.“The club gave me the option to renew before the World Cup without knowing what was going to happen. It was a very nice gesture,” he said.“Afterwards, they gave me a great tribute; I feel very loved, and that’s very important to me. They’ve given me a good contract, although if I had waited until after the World Cup, I would have gotten more.”Pressed further on a move away from Tottenham, he added: “Obviously, I’d love to return to Spain someday. It’s my country, and I like the league.“Right now, it would be very unfair to talk about anything other than my club because I’m under contract, but obviously, I’d love to go back to Spain; it’s a big dream of mine.”READ MORE: ‘Tottenham will be first in line’ – Insider reveals what he has heard about Morgan Gibbs-WhiteThe post ‘Passionate guy’ – Roberto De Zerbi explains that Pedro Porro kiss after Tottenham win appeared first on Spurs Web.
