I posted here back in july when I first put it out, so figured an honest update might help someone in the same spot. the app is Stillness, an android phone lock. you set a time, hold a button, and the phone stays locked until it's up, even if you restart it. I built it because I kept talking my way out of every screen time app I tried. where it's at right now: just over 100 downloads. first paying user last month, which honestly made my week. and about 1 in 4 people who open the play store page end up installing, so the page is fine, the problem is almost nobody finds it. what didn't work: my first two tiktoks got 0 views. not low, actually zero. the third one got 87 so I guess the account needed time? what kind of worked: a youtube short of the eclipse lock screen got about 350 views, which is still the most people who've ever seen the app in one go. the thing I'm stuck on is getting found at all. play store search basically doesn't show it unless you type the name. for anyone who got past the first 100 users with zero budget, what actually moved the needle for you? link if anyone's curious: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spiralstudio.stillness submitted by /u/DFactorP [link] [comments]
