Our fastest app went from first commit to App Store submission in 4 days. The code was the short part.

Wait 5 sec.

My twin brother and I build small iPhone and Apple Watch apps. Our fastest one went from first commit to App Store submission in 4 days, and writing the code was honestly the quick bit. Here's what actually ate the time: Screenshots. Our first versions looked nice and said nothing. What fixed it: one message per screenshot, written on a sticky note before opening the simulator. If we couldn't write the sentence, the shot didn't need to exist. Privacy answers. We now run 5 checks before every submission: Every permission prompt says why Ask when the feature is used, not at launch The privacy label matches the data you actually collect (SDKs count too) The app still works after "Don't Allow" The privacy policy link matches the label #3 is the one that gets missed most. Third-party SDKs collect things you forgot about. Store copy. Writing a subtitle that's both clear and searchable took longer than some features did. For those of you who've shipped to the App Store: what took way longer than you expected? submitted by /u/twinsBuild [link] [comments]
