I am currently reading this book and I feel for this scared little boy who is saying one thing that was anxiety causing when he was in the psych hospital or the ER prior to transfer no one communicating with him, no one telling him what was going on, no one answering his questions. I get he is 11, but I keep reading this book thinking that we as nurses also let him down. I will say I am not a psych nurse. But I have done peds, especially adolescent, and have done ER where I have cared for youth coming in for psych clearance. I always talk to both my patients and their parents.
