I built a Kubernetes simulator that breaks a real cluster on your laptop and grades how you fix it

Wait 5 sec.

I kept running into the same problem: you can't practise production incidents without a production system. Tutorials only show you the happy path and labs give you practice of a tool, not what you will face in real life. So, i built snowops labs which do the following - Build a production shaped cluster in minutes on your own machine or through GitHub codespace if you prefer. Load a scenario like node drain, autoscaling, cluster upgrade (it uses real tools like keda, kafka, etc.) Inject a fault into the live stream (broker service, OOMKilled, etc.) Helps you to fix it and grades you on your fix. This is optional and it depends on whether you want to learn or challenge yourself. Grading checks the actual cluster state, not a checkbox that you fixed it. You will also find setup video on readme documentation if you want help to setup this. I'd love feedback, especially on which failures you'd want to practise that I haven't covered. Please share your experience and let me know if you need any help . submitted by /u/sagacious123 [link] [comments]
