I’m an RN on a 10-person community psychiatric healthcare team. Small nonprofit company. I’ve been here five years and genuinely love my job, but our manager has created what I believe is an increasingly toxic work environment. The biggest concerns include excessive micromanagement, reprimanding employees for privately consulting with our psychiatrist, scrutinizing staff interactions and body language, dismissing legitimate workload concerns, and contributing to significant staff turnover. The final straw was our psychiatrist telling me that our manager had allegedly called me and another colleague “narcissists,” attributed “Cluster B personality traits” to us, accused us of manipulating the team, questioned our commitment to clients, and even questioned whether my colleague should be practicing professionally. Our psychiatrist reportedly defended us and expressed serious concern. Two other employees have already emailed upper leadership about our manager. The remaining colleagues I’ve approached are willing to speak up, and even former employees have agreed to share their experiences. I’ve drafted a detailed, professional email requesting an impartial investigation and confidential staff interviews. I’m not demanding her termination. I just want meaningful changes and a healthier workplace. Would you send it? I’m concerned about potential retaliation, but I also feel that remaining silent is no longer an option. Has anyone experienced a situation where nearly an entire healthcare team raised concerns about its manager? What was the outcome? I’m prepared for the worst aka to be fired as retaliation, even though I’ve done nothing wrong. submitted by /u/Lonely-Relation-7364 [link] [comments]
