I built a free Chrome extension that tracks job applications in your own Google Sheet (no account, bring your own AI key)

Hi all. I’ve been job hunting and got tired of juggling tabs and a spreadsheet I never kept up to date, so I built Candidex. How it works: On any job page, you draw a box around the post. An AI model extracts the title, company, location and work type, and you review them before saving. Bring your own API key (Groq, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, or OpenRouter). Keys are saved strictly in local storage, and only selected text is sent to your chosen provider. Applications are saved to a Google Sheet in your own Drive. I don’t run a server, and there’s no Candidex account. From the side panel you can search your list, change statuses, add interview dates, and see your response rate. It’s free: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/candidex/nbmbbbdlnkoaaomijbmjllmgojpkoknm I’d really appreciate honest feedback, especially on what’s confusing or missing. https://reddit.com/link/1xmqs01/video/ktureohyvdzh1/player submitted by /u/Express-Lack-5279 [link] [comments]
