I am in property management and I wouldn't co sign for my son. I gave him money for the deposit that I never expected to see again. But that limited my risk. If that mom consigned for her, that gal would never pay rent. She would expect that mom to pay it bc she "is rich" and it sounds like her followers would egg on that type of behavior.
