I built an iOS code editor that lets you edit remote files over SSH

Wait 5 sec.

Hey everyone! I'm an indie developer building CodeMate, a native code editor for iPhone and iPad. Sometimes I just want to check a config file, browse a project, or make a quick change on a remote server without opening my laptop. So for the latest update (2.1.0), I added SSH remote file management and editing. Here's what it can do now: SSH connections — Connect to remote Linux/macOS machines. Visual file browser — Navigate and manage remote directories. Remote editing — Open, edit, and save files directly on the server. Built-in terminal — Run SSH commands without switching apps. codemate command — Open remote files directly from the terminal. No Word Wrap — Scroll horizontally through long lines, just like a desktop code editor. It also supports syntax highlighting, Find & Replace (including regex), Markdown/HTML previews, and iCloud Drive/Dropbox files. I'm not trying to replace a full desktop IDE. The goal is to make quick edits and remote file management easier when you're away from your computer. I've attached a short demo of the SSH workflow. Pricing: Free to download. Premium features can be temporarily unlocked by watching a rewarded ad, so you can try them without subscribing. Would you find SSH file editing more useful on an iPhone or an iPad? submitted by /u/Ok-Welder-8005 [link] [comments]
