Hi r/SideProject! I'm a full-time mom, not a professional developer, and a native Chinese speaker. I kept noticing how stressful it gets at hotel front desks when Chinese guests arrive and nobody shares a language: pointing at phones, translation apps that miss the point, everyone a bit embarrassed. So I wanted a small app that teaches only the phrases front desk staff actually use. When I told my husband, his honest reaction was "nobody is going to use that." So I built it anyway, mostly with AI tools, one feature at a time. What it does right now: short lessons based on real front-desk situations (there's even an invoice lesson) listen then speak practice, scored by a little panda called 小文 works offline no sign-up, you just download and start, and some lessons are free I can make custom lessons for a specific hotel (for example, if it has pet-friendly rooms) App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6822991748 I'd really love honest feedback: if you work in hospitality, would you or your team actually use this? Is the App Store page clear? Anything that would make you trust or try it more? Thanks for reading. Proving my husband wrong is optional, but it would be nice :) submitted by /u/HappyLuaa [link] [comments]
