Is there a clear guide to game formats, installation methods, and stores for jailbroken PS5 consoles?

Wait 5 sec.

I've been spending several days testing different ways to download and install games on my PS5. I've learned a few things along the way, but the whole process has been quite frustrating due to the lack of clear, centralized information. My console is running firmware 13.00 using the Y2JB method. So far, here's what I've encountered: - exFAT: This is the format I've had the most success with, although some downloads fail halfway through, often around 50%, apparently due to server issues. - PKG: I haven't been able to get this format working. I'm not sure if it's a compatibility issue with my firmware. - FPKG: Sometimes the files aren't recognized, or I can't get them to work properly. - Other formats: I've tried a few others, but I'm not even sure I have their names right, and I haven't had any success with them. - RAR and 7z: Some files I've downloaded require a password, which makes the process even more frustrating. - I've also come across LZ4 files inside password-protected RAR archives. I've managed to install a few games, mostly using exFAT, but it's been a lot of trial and error. I also have questions about format conversion: which tools are used, when conversion is necessary, and which formats are compatible with each method or firmware version. I've searched Reddit and YouTube for several days, but the information is scattered, and it's often unclear what's still relevant. I really think the community needs a guide covering game formats, available stores, compatibility, and the general installation process. If anyone has experience and would like to contribute information, corrections, or recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated by those of us who are just getting started—and especially by everyone who comes after us. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/oaml90 [link] [comments]
