Here's the thing, I'm building my portfolio for studio roles and I want one strong hard-surface creature piece in it. This is my rough sketch for a mecha mantis. My plan is high poly in Maya, then a clean low poly with baked maps, textured in Substance and rendered real-time. I want it to show I can handle game-ready pipelines, not just pretty renders. Two things I'd love input on: - Does the design read as portfolio-worthy, or is a mecha insect too common right now? - Anything in the sketch you'd change before I commit to modelling? I'm thinking about the joint logic on the front arms and the thorax detail. Appreciate any honest critique. Thanks! submitted by /u/Few_Succotash5970 [link] [comments]
