I’ve been at bedside as a nurse for 6 years (1.5 telemetry/med-surg and 4.5 in a ICU/CVICU in a level trauma 3 hospital that transitioned to level trauma 2 this year). I was a pct prior to becoming a nurse for close to 3 years. I got pregnant with twins 2 years into my career and have been working full time. I had to go on a mental health leave and ultimately resigned. I’m at the point where if I cannot transition to case management that I may need to leave the profession for good. I am not expecting case management to be stress free, but feel this is what I am willing to learn and overall adjust with my life as a mom. I wanted to ask for those who transitioned, what made you transition? How was your interview process? What was the biggest learning curve? How long did you feel it was manageable before burning out? Did you end up going back to bedside or go into an agency outside the hospital? Did anyone completely pivot out after doing case management? submitted by /u/Visual-Flow-6303 [link] [comments]
