One day after signing a multi-year extension with AC Milan, Christian Pulisic once again showed his importance to the Serie A squad. Pulisic scored his third goal of the season as the Rossoneri defeated rivals and reigning Scudetto winners Inter at the San Siro. The 28-year-old earned SBI Americans Abroad Player of the Week honors after an impactful showing in Ruben Amorim’s starting lineup.Pulisic may be known for his two-footed shooting abilities, but it was his head that gave AC Milan an early lead. Diego Moreira’s dangerous cross was finished off by Pulisic in the box, with the American attacker left wide open to deliver a clinical header.Adrien Rabiot and Alessandro Bastoni would trade goals later in the half, but the Rossoneri took a 3-1 lead into halftime after Moreira’s sensational free kick gave AC Milan its two-goal cushion back. Pulisic was lively from the opening whistle in his 82-minute showing, completing three dribbles, winning five duels, drawing one foul, and delivering two defensive contributions. It marked one of Pulisic’s better outings of the season after signing a multi-year extension with the club on Friday. He felt that scoring in a key derby win was a great way to thank the club itself for their continued trust in him. “I guess I wasn’t thinking too much about the contract, but it does feel really good,” Pulisic said in a postmatch interview on CBS Sports. “What this club has given me, from top to bottom. The confidence they’ve given me. To repay these fans on a day like today, but I want to give them so much more because they really restarted my career and helped me in so many ways, so I owe it to them.”USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino will be pleased with Pulisic’s performance in the Milan Derby, knowing that he could be vital in the Americans advancing in November’s CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals. Here is a closer look at this week’s top Americans Abroad performances:Sebastian BerhalterMiddlesbrough are currently tearing up the EFL Championship and American midfielder Sebastian Berhalter is a key reason for it.Berhalter registered his third goal of the season on Saturday as Middlesbrough defeated Charlton Athletic 3-0 at the Riverside Stadium.
