Is the bar to being a 'good' patient really that low?

Wait 5 sec.

I was hospitalized for pneumonia a couple weeks ago and an interaction with one of the night shift nurses has stuck with me. One evening the nurse came in too take my vitals and I asked her if she could refill the water pitcher for me with some ice water and she obliged and when she returned I apologized for making her do it rather than waiting for my sister to get there (she was coming right before visiting hours ended which would have been a couple hours out). She said she didn't mind and that mine was quote 'the only room she didn't dread going into' that evening. Now I'm curious was that just because my case was fairly simple from her perspective (just needed fluid changed every four hours and vitals every two) or was it that more likely that me trying to be polite and not take advantage was something unusual as compared to other patients. submitted by /u/cowfish11235 [link] [comments]
