Full Quote: The biggest thing I took away was connection. My understanding is that Bayley created Lodestone to bridge the gap between women with contracts, women on the independents and women who were just starting out. Having all of us together really brought that idea to life. It’s a bit of a pressure cooker. You’re living in a house together, training together and being pushed out of your comfort zone, both in the ring and socially. Naturally, people gravitate towards the people they already know, but being in that environment encourages you to build new relationships. The training was amazing, and getting feedback from people with that much experience was incredibly valuable, but the connections were what stayed with me most. That’s such a huge part of wrestling that people don’t always see. Of course you have to be good, dedicated and willing to train hard, but those relationships matter too. You leave with people you can learn from, lean on and share opportunities with. For me, that was the biggest takeaway: new friends and a sense of connection that carries on after camp.
