I built a map and level editor over the last few weeks. Looking for feedback from people who make 3D worlds

Wait 5 sec.

I've spent the last few weeks building a desktop tool for designing maps and levels, and I've just recorded a demo. You draw a plan in 2D and the 3D world builds live next to it. It handles roads, junctions and roundabouts, multi-storey buildings with stairs and roofs, terrain and water, and it has a brush for painting trees and rocks. There's a walk-around mode so you can step into the map right away, unlimited undo, and glTF export. It's closed source for now, and it runs on Linux. I'd like to know whether a tool like this would be useful to you, and what would stop you from trying it. If you design games, simulations or architectural walkthroughs, what do you use today, and what do you find annoying about it? submitted by /u/Md_Ashraful_Islam [link] [comments]
