I’m naming more projects, often for more than one country. I kept repeating the same loop: like a name, check the domain, find a collision, start again. I built Thingsmith to make that process repeatable. It develops candidates, investigates domains and supported handles, and records the evidence behind a shortlist. There are optional pronunciation tests too. A useful correction during development: the tools could be too confident about “available”. A missing profile can hide an existing account. A failed lookup proves very little. Negative results now say NO_RECORD_FOUND, with unresolved checks left visible. It’s free under MIT. The core checkers don’t need API keys; your agent’s model usage is separate. GitHub: https://github.com/samshennan/thingsmith I made this. If you try it on something you’re naming, what part of the investigation would you still have to do manually? submitted by /u/Kangaboomerang [link] [comments]
