I love my friends, but I don’t always trust their taste. So I built a free app that tracks how often their recommendations actually land for me - Recommendship!

Wait 5 sec.

Do you have a friend group that is constantly swapping recommendations, but you can't keep straight who's always giving the great recommendations vs the real stinkers? I promise I'm not trying to cause drama in my, or your, friend group. But I had an idea that my friend X might give great restaurant recommendations but terrible TV show recommendations, and I want to be able to track all that. So let's rate them! This isn't Letterboxd, this is my list of "I promised my friend I'll watch that", and when I get around to it, it reviews the friend, not just the movie. If Alice is constantly giving 5 star movies, Alice's next recommendation bumps up in value. It's free, and I plan to keep it that way. There's some hosting cost that I'm covering myself. You can use it without an account and everything stays in your browser, or sign in with Google to sync it between your phone and computer (up to 10,000 items, which should be plenty). To do that I store your name and email from Google (plus the usual sign-in details), and what you log so it can sync. I can technically see it, but I only look when I need to fix something. No ads, no analytics, no tracking. You can download everything any time, and if you want your account gone, email me and it's deleted. Full privacy policy: https://recommendship.app/privacy Please, be my beta testers and check it out. Reply here, or tap the '?' in the app and hit Send feedback (it opens an email to me). Let me know what you like and don't like, things I can improve on, and I'll filter the feedback and try to make it the best I can.
