DarkScout is my iPhone app for planning stargazing and astrophotography outings. It brings the weather, the sky and the observing location into one workflow. The question it helps with is simple: when should I go out, where should I go, and will there be a useful window for what I want to see or photograph? It includes: Hourly clouds, moonlight and darkness, with an explanation behind the night's Astro Score. A 14-night planner for Milky Way and deep-sky targets. Cloud maps, saved observing spots and location comparisons. Community observing sessions that you can join or host. Every feature is free. There is no trial, paywall or subscription. It currently runs on iPhone with iOS 26 or later. The score is a planning aid; forecasts can change, and local access and conditions still need checking before you leave. If you plan observing or photo sessions, which part of the workflow would you most want to simplify? submitted by /u/Miserable_Sky5682 [link] [comments]
