I've been working on a side project for the past year, and I finally wanted to share some of what I've built. The idea started with a simple problem: students often have very little feedback on how their profiles compare with industry expectations and what they should improve before applying for jobs. So I built a platform with several tools: Profile Analysis: A scoring system with category-wise breakdowns, improvement suggestions, and peer rankings. Recruiter Arena: Simulates candidate evaluation against job descriptions, including skill matching, job-fit scores, and candidate rankings. Profile Builder: Multiple professional templates with structured formatting and PDF exports. Improvement Tracker: Tracks profile progress and highlights areas that have improved over time. Battle Arena: An experimental feature where two profiles compete across five AI-evaluated rounds. Browser Extension: Integrates with LinkedIn and Naukri to extract job requirements and identify matching and missing skills. The project also includes a backend with multiple AI providers, fallback mechanisms, and a Chrome extension built using Manifest V3. A little context: I'm a final-year Computer Engineering student at NIT Kurukshetra. What started as a personal project has now grown to 3,200+ users across 350+ colleges and 18+ countries. I've documented my journey, engineering decisions, mistakes, and lessons here: GitHub: https://github.com/Naveen-Beniwal/building-my-first-startup I'd love to hear what other developers think about the idea, implementation, and features. Open to honest feedback and technical discussions! Thanks! submitted by /u/IcyButterscotch9450 [link] [comments]
