I made an iPhone alarm that follows the dawn as it gets earlier or later

Wait 5 sec.

I built Sahar for Fajr, the Muslim dawn prayer. A repeating alarm at 6:00 might be fine this week and late a few weeks from now. Sahar works out the time on the phone for the city you choose, even offline. The part I had the most fun designing is what happens when it rings. You can say a short dhikr (a phrase of remembrance) and move a bead with your thumb for each repetition. Or you can pick the missing word from a verse of the Qur’an. The beads are my favorite. You can swipe down for each bead, which feels right for something you’re using half asleep. There’s a practice mode, so you can try it in the middle of the afternoon. If anyone gives it a go, I’d love to know whether moving the beads makes sense on the first try. The Fajr alarm and both wake-up options are free. There’s an optional paid upgrade for people who also want to wake for night prayer. https://apps.apple.com/app/id6824320865 submitted by /u/scientist137 [link] [comments]
