Hi all, I’m a developer and I got tired of pasting config and logs into random sites that upload them. So I built BackendBench: https://backendbench.com “Why not just ask ChatGPT?” Fair question. I use AI too. But for small, exact jobs I want something different: Deterministic. A cron expression either fires on the dates shown or it doesn’t. The tool computes the next runs, so there is no “probably”. An AI can confidently get a Quartz vs Spring cron wrong; a parser can’t. Private. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so you can paste a stack trace or a config without worrying about what’s in it. Instant. No prompt, no waiting, no login, no rate limit. Paste and read the result. Checkable. You can see why something is flagged, rather than trusting a paragraph of text. What’s in it: Paste a stack trace, cron expression, JSON, SQL, YAML, JWT, Dockerfile or pom.xml and it works out what it is and checks it. 140+ small tools: a cron explainer and converter for several schedulers (Quartz, Spring, Kubernetes, EventBridge...), a DST collision simulator, JSON/YAML tools, a regex tester, and more. “Unravel” explains Java code and stack traces in plain language, with 270+ concepts in the Learn section. How the Java part works: Unravel parses your code in the browser with tree-sitter (a real Java grammar compiled to WebAssembly), then analyses the syntax tree to explain what each part does and to trace simple programs step by step. No JVM and no server. Your code never leaves your machine. No sign-up, no limits. It’s a one-person project. I’d love honest feedback: which tools are missing, what’s confusing, what’s broken on your phone. I read every comment. submitted by /u/Top_West5024 [link] [comments]
