I have a hard time staying focused on long articles, my eyes drift and I lose my place. Reader-mode extensions didn’t help because they strip the site’s layout, and I wanted to stay on the actual page. So I built readit. You select any passage, hit start, and it highlights one word at a time at your pace (100-700 WPM). You can pause, step back/forward, and it auto-scrolls to keep the current word in view. 5 highlight colors, keyboard shortcuts (Space / Esc / arrows). No tracking, no network calls, no accounts.
